1) Expansion of Idea: "Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way" - ( Month - June )
The proverb *"Where there’s a will, there’s a way"* means that with determination, any obstacle can be overcome. A strong desire to achieve something helps us find solutions to problems.
History is full of examples of people who succeeded because of their willpower. Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before inventing the light bulb, but his determination led him to success. Similarly, great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam achieved extraordinary feats through perseverance.
In daily life, students face challenges like difficult exams or tough subjects. Those who work hard with a positive mindset always find a way to succeed. On the other hand, those who give up easily never reach their goals.
Thus, willpower is the key to success. If we stay determined, no hurdle is too big. As the saying goes, "Strong determination can move mountains."

4) View Counterviews : ( Month - September )
View: "Should cooking be only a feminine activity?" Write your counterviews in a
paragraph.
Counterviews:
Cooking should not be considered as only a 'feminine activity' !!
The traditional female gender role was to stay at home, do household chores, and raise children. It was an age old belief that 'Men hunt - Women gather', because men used to hunt in earlier days and women used to stay at home and cook. Now-a-days in this fast pace of life where women are walking shoulder to shoulder with men, cooking cannot be considered a feminine activity exclusively. These streotypes are in no way useful to a developed, civilised and modern society. While society has evolved and we are coming out of gender roles, we should not stick to the age-old belief that it is a feminine activity. It is odd that there are people who still believe cooking is a woman's job, whereas there are male chefs doing exceptionally
well at the professional level in restaurants. When they can make better professional chefs why not even cook at home and thereby help the women of the house. Thus, cooking should not be considered as only a feminine activity.
5) Report Writing ( Two Types of Reports are Given ) ( Month - October )
A fire broke out in a shopping mall in Kolkata. Write a report to be published in the
newspaper.
Kolkata shopping mall in flames
Kolkata, 10th January 2019: A major fire broke out at a shopping mall in the New Market
Area in the heart of Kolkata on Sunday and even after 10 hours, it was not fully doused.
However, there was no report of any casualty or injury.
The fire was reported at 11.45 am and it was suspected to have been caused by a short-circuit inside the godown of the mall. The fire originated in the ground floor of the mall and spread to the other floors. "The huge stock of clothes, leather items and other inflammable materials added fuel to the fire," the official said. To douse the fire, 27 fire tenders and sky-ladders were used to reach the upper floor and eventually the operation ended successfully.
The minister, however, said the exact reason behind the blaze was yet to be ascertained.
Investigations are still in progress.

6) Story Writing : ( Month - November )
1) Develop a story in about 80-100 words with the help of the following beginning. Suggest a suitable title.
Ans. The Lost Mobile
Mom and dad were out of town. They had given a lot of instructions about food that was
prepared and kept in the refrigerator for my brother and me. Both of us had to come early to college. So, I took out the required amount of food to heat in the microwave and put back the remaining food in the refrigerator. Both of us packed our lunch boxes and we were about to leave, when I realised that I had misplaced my mobile somewhere. I begged my brother to help me search for it all over the house. We even tried calling the number to locate it, but to no avail. Both of us were getting late, irritated and frustrated because our efforts led us nowhere. Exhausted, I went to the refrigerator to drink some water, when I saw my mobile lying in the refrigerator where I had left it by mistake. Oh! Goodness gracious! I found my mobile at the same place.
7) Speech Writing : ( Month - December )
Write a speech on the status of women in Indian society.
Ans. "Women are the real architects of society," said Harriet B. Stowe. These words are so true! Women are a major faction of society who have played an eminent role in Indian history and have engraved their names in stories of glory.
We claim to live in a diverse country where all citizens, irrespective of gender, caste or creed are treated with equal respect and dignity. Equality stands true on paper but in reality, does it really exist? In my opinion, it does not.
Today, so many girls are deprived of education and other such rights. So many women face the authoritative nature of men. If a woman were a bird, her wings appear to have been clipped off and she is now locked up in a cage of opinions, judgments, violence, inferiority and other such evils.
All I want to convey today are a few questions that we need to ask ourselves. Why do we still find reports of domestic violence, rapes and assaults? Why are there so many illiterate girls? Why is a woman still considered to be a puppet for a man? And most importantly, why is she still bound by the chains of orthodox beliefs and atrocious deeds ? Think, because only when we think, can we act.
Thank you for being a patient audience.

A keyboard and a mouse are the input devices whereas the monitor and printer are output devices. The CPU has 3 components viz., Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), Control Unit (CU) and memory. The computer works on 2 types of memory, i.e., Main Memory and Secondary Memory. The floppy disk and the hard disk are examples of secondary memory but the main memory comprises of 2 types known as RAM and ROM.
9) Narrating an Experince : ( Month - February )
Narrate an experience in about 80-100 words with the help of the following beginning/
ending. Suggest a suitable title for it.
Looking back on a childhood filled with events and memories ...
Ans. Looking back on a childhood filled with events and memories, I find it rather difficult to pick on what leaves me with the fabled "warm and fuzzy feelings." As the daughter of
an Air Force Major, I had the pleasure of travelling across America in many moving trips.
I have visited the monstrous trees of the Sequoia National Forest, stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon and have jumped on the beds at Caesay's Palace in Lake Tahoe. However, I have discovered that while reflecting on my childhood, it is not the trips that come to mind, instead there are details from everyday doings; a deck of cards, a silver bank or an ice-cream flavour.
