J.D.C. Bytco Pioneers English Fluency with FEC Leaders' Coronation
J.D.C. Bytco English Medium High School took a monumental stride in its mission to foster linguistic excellence today with the grand "Functional English Club (FEC) Leaders' Coronation Ceremony 2025-26." The event, a vibrant celebration of commitment to the English language, was marked by inspirational speeches, the recognition of student leaders, and a significant partnership with the Nashik Road Rotary Club.
The school's journey towards creating a 100% English-speaking environment began on December 24, 2023, with the inauguration of the Functional English Club by Dr. Anjali Kulkarni, Chairperson of the Central Coordination Committee of Gokhale Education Society. Symbolizing growth and lasting impact, Dr. Kulkarni had planted a tree during the inauguration, an initiative that continues to be nurtured under the stewardship of Headmaster Mr. D.R. Nandan.

Rotary Club Champions the Cause
A highlight of the ceremony was the acknowledgment of the Rotary Club of Nashik Road's invaluable contribution. The club has generously funded ₹6000 for the purchase of official FEC badges and identity plates for all members, serving as a mark of pride and a constant reminder of their commitment. In recognition of this support, Rtn. Mr. Deepak Bhure, President of the Rotary Club, was present as the Guest of Honour.
The event was graced by Dr. Vrishali Sanap as the Chief Guest, who delivered an inspirational address applauding the school's innovative initiative. The dignitaries on the dais included Mr. Jayant Bhabhe, Superintendent of Gokhale Education Society, Nashik Road Centre, as the Guest of Honor, along with Rotary members Rtn. Mrs. Snehal Sonkule (Secretary), Rtn. Mrs. Vaishali Jadhav, and Rtn. Nitin Surana (Assistant Governor).
A Message of Unity and Dedication
The coronation ceremony featured insightful speeches from both students and faculty. Master Rudra of Standard 5B and the newly coronated FEC School Captain, Miss Arfa Shaikh, delivered compelling appeals to their fellow students, urging them to embrace English communication.
The teaching faculty demonstrated their unified commitment. Teachers Mr. Anil Pardeshi, Mrs. Bhakti Kulkarni, and Mrs. Kunde shared practical insights on developing English skills, understanding its global importance, and techniques to avoid reverting to Hindi in daily conversation.
A powerful message was sent by the very execution of the event: it was seamlessly anchored and conducted by non-English subject teachers, including Miss. Sagar Mansi, Mrs. Rupali, Mrs. Rahini, and Mrs. Deepali (who proposed the vote of thanks). This proved that every teacher at J.D.C. Bytco, regardless of their subject specialty, is fully capable and committed to fostering an English-oriented environment.
A Visionary Path to 100% English Proficiency
Mr. Ajaysing Patil, a key driving force behind the FEC, expressed profound gratitude to the Rotary Club for their belief in the movement. In a passionate address, he outlined the school's ambitious vision. "Why should we develop English speaking? Because this is an English Medium school," he stated, adding emphatically, "Till Mr. Nandan's retirement, this school will be a 100% English Medium school."
A Legacy of Firsts
The ceremony concluded with reflections on the school's legacy of setting benchmarks. J.D.C. Bytco High School is already renowned as the first government-aided school on Nashik Road and the first ISI 9001:2015 certified school in Nashik. The FEC initiative solidifies its position as the first school to undertake such a structured, student-and-teacher-driven mission for complete English fluency.
The success of the program was universally attributed to the visionary leadership of Headmaster Mr. D.R. Nandan and the foundational guidance provided by Dr. Anjali Kulkarni, who was credited with setting the school on this transformative path. Under their stewardship, J.D.C. Bytco is not just teaching English; it is building a future where every student can communicate with confidence and competence on a global stage.
