JDC Bytco NCC Cadets Shine at Air Force Camp
Nashik Road: Twenty-one NCC cadets from the Air Force wing of "JDC Bitoke English Medium High School" of Gokhale Education Society here successfully completed a ten-day training camp. The camp was organized for Air Force cadets at the Indian Military Academy - Khadavli, Kalyan from May 7 to 16 under the leadership of Commanding Officer Sangram Naik, Junior Warrant Officer Sunil Kumar, Sergeant Alok Srivastava, and Corporal Alok Mitra of Number One Maharashtra Air Squadron NCC, Mumbai. Eleven boys and ten girls from the school participated in the camp. A total of 488 cadets from eleven schools in the Mumbai and Nashik divisions participated in the camp. An effort was made to inculcate in the cadets the values of unity, discipline, self-reliance, and patriotism.
Rigorous training in the morning and evening, regular practice of drill and exercise, direct guidance classes by various Air Force officers, aeromodelling, various types and functions of fighter aircraft, weapon guidance, various sports, etc. were some of the things that the cadets learned during this period. In the ten-day camp, the school cadets actively participated in all the programs and competitions.
In the "Unique Underwater World" painting competition held here, Cadet Revati Narad won the first prize, while the school troop, under the leadership of Cadet Sergeant Aditya Porje, won the second prize trophy in the drill and parade competition among eleven different schools. In the cultural competition, the patriotic group dance presented under the leadership of Sergeant Shreya Javale won the first prize trophy, garnering applause from all the audience and bringing laurels to the school's name in the unit. Group Captain Sangram Saran honored all the successful students by giving them prizes and commended all the cadets.
School NCC Officer Devendra Hatkhambarkar guided the students for the ten-day training. School Principal Shri Dilip Udmale and Supervisor Shri Daval Nandan congratulated all the successful cadets and wished them all the best for their future endeavors.
