Nashik: The district-level tug of war competition, organized on October 4, 2024, at the Minatai Sports Complex in Nashik, turned into a thrilling showcase of strength, teamwork, and determination. With 32 teams from various urban schools competing, the event was a major highlight of the district’s sporting calendar. The excitement was palpable as the under-17 boys' category featured intense competition from the very start.
Among the many competitors, Gokhale Education Society’s J.D.C. Bytco English Medium School stood out with an extraordinary performance, clinching the second place after a series of challenging matches. The team, under the able leadership of captain Dinesh Sonawane, included key players Mangal Bhave, Om Taskar, Saif Qureshi, Gatik Dhengle, Atharva Moghade, Piyush Jagtap, Deepak Chettiyar, Abul Malik, and Soham Kandekar. Their synchronized efforts, resilience, and dedication on the field led them to a well-deserved second-place finish.
The final match was a nail-biting encounter as the J.D.C. Bytco team battled fiercely, narrowly missing out on the first-place title but earning admiration for their skill and unity. The competition not only tested their physical strength but also showcased their perseverance and mental toughness, which are the hallmarks of a champion team.
The presence of the school’s Principal, Mr. D.R. Nandan, and Mrs. S. Jadhav, along with other teachers and non-teaching staff, added to the motivation and spirit of the players. Much of the team’s success is attributed to the special training and guidance provided by the school’s dedicated physical education teachers, Mr. Ghuge and Mr. Rajendra Shelke.
